The dates for next year's Dickensian Festival are the Saturdays
3rd,
10th and 17th December 2011
Enjoy the musicians, dancers, street entertainers and exhibitions of
traditional country crafts.
During these three Saturdays Grassington is transported back to the
time of Charles Dickens. See the Christmas lights, the village
square and the streets transformed into a traditional
market with shopkeepers, villagers and visitors dressed in Victorian costume.
Soak up the atmosphere as dusk falls upon the village Square.
Join the torchlight procession around the village with Mary and Joseph,
ending with a short carol service in the Square.
The Grassington pubs, cafes and hotels, along with the outdoor stalls
and Town Hall all excel themselves in offering traditional fayre at
affordable prices.
Experience the pleasure of doing your Christmas shopping, exploring our
quaint shops, finding presents and curios in an atmosphere unlike any
other.
Please make a note in your diary to pay us a visit at the most magical
of times - this Christmas.
Hope to see you in your period costume!
If you can stay a while - there's evening entertainment in the Town Hall,
courtesy of the local Players and Singers.
