1940's Weekend

This year our 1940s weekend will kick off up at the Town Hall on Friday 16th September with live music and dancing...acts to be announced shortly and tickets available soon.

On Saturday and Sunday, ride in on a vintage bus and take a stroll up the street to the Devonshire Institute where you can enjoy war games, as well as refreshments. From 2-4pm come and take part in our tea dance led by Maggie & Geoff Forrest.

Whilst walking around the famous cobbled streets you will hear live music throughout the day from a variery of performers including Paul Harper and Brandon Shaw. There will also be military displays with re-enactors and skirmishes, along with classic cars. You might also come across Churchill walking around the village, or maybe even chance upon Carolyn on the trapeze.

Come and join us in the National Parks Car Park and there you will find the re-enactor encampments, vintage market stalls and military vehicles. On display this year, and back by popular demand, we have a Merlin Engine, which was first used to run a Spitfire and then later converted to power a Challenger Tank.
